Fascist Tactics for Tories

  • Riiiiight. Because that’s what Hitler, Mussolni et al did: they only delayed the sitting of Parliament!Seriously, Zorph. Do you have any clue what fascism actually is?

  • We know what humour is. We don’t think you do.

And it doesn’t say “Fascism for Tories” it says “Fascist Tactics.” Dig the diff?

  • That would be a difference without distinction.Temporarily proroguing Parliament is not a fascist tactic. Fascist governments permanently suspend Parliamentary government. “Permanently” being the operative word.Even in cases where an arguably fascist state — for example, “Communist” China could be argued to be a fascist state — has a parliamentary assembly, it generally tends to be stripped of any robust legislative power, and engineered to be complacent to ruling interests.Neither one of those things are happening in Canada. We don’t have a secret police force rounding up and murdering opposition leaders. Nor is that going to happen.A joke is one thing. But isn’t a joke supposed to be funny? There’s nothing funny about this.

  • Geo:

Hey Zorph, Welcome back. You were missed. Harper wouldn’t need a dummies book like this. It’s bred to the bone in him. Spokes-thug Dim Soudas on the other hand keeps his dog-eared copy on him at all times. He does have some trouble tho; a grade 4 reading and comprehension level makes it heavy slogging.Cheers, Geo
